William (Bill) Anderson

Bill comes to JMC from a diverse career in government, higher education, and research, and most recently in C-level positions in nonprofit senior care and services, elective healthcare marketing, tech start-up, and financial services. Bill led customer experience for a $1.7B community bank in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he helmed deposit operations, IT and security, marketing, project management, and facilities. He also played a leadership role in implementing Entrepreneurial Operating Systems (EOS®) tools throughout the bank and in his nonprofit board service.

Over the course of his professional life, Bill has led diverse teams, established and owned project management offices and innovation centers, led new product and service development, and helmed data gathering and analysis initiatives.

He received MA and PhD degrees in Political Science from The Ohio State University and a BA in Political Science, minoring in Biological Sciences, from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Most recently, he received certificates in Leadership and Banking from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.

In his spare time, he is passionate about community service. He is a co-founder of the Vermillion Cultural Association, a past Board Chair and current Board Member of Startup Sioux Falls, and a Board Member of Levitt at the Falls. He enjoys running, biking, and spending time enjoying his kids’ active lives.
