Grace Mallard

Grace Mallard is a Public Health Informatician with several years of experience in epidemiology, surveillance, and health information technology (IT). She obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Emory University, with a concentration in Global Epidemiology, after which she was selected as a fellow in the first class of the CDC/CSTE Applied Public Health Informatics Fellowship (APHIF).

Prior to joining JMC, Grace gained experience at state public health agencies in improving surveillance for reportable and notifiable diseases. She led and supported various informatics projects surrounding state reportable disease surveillance systems, including HL7 case notification to CDC using Message Mapping Guides (MMGs), electronic laboratory reporting, outbreak data management, and user acceptance testing for system upgrades and modifications. In addition, she has held roles dealing with the development and management of electronic medical records, Meaningful Use objectives for health information exchange, and standard health IT terminologies (e.g., LOINC, SNOMED). Grace brings this varied experience to her position at JMC and is prepared to provide expertise in terminology and electronic data exchange.
