Michelle Wells

Michelle has over 20 years’ experience in healthcare project management with a focus on EHR implementations, HL7 Interfaces and best practice optimizations. She has worked as a consultant implementing enterprise EHRs, RIS, PACS, LIS and other ancillary applications. She has a solid understanding of clinical workflows, testing cycles and the Software Development Life Cycle. She began her career as a clinical trainer, became an HL7 systems analyst and has led Epic, Cerner, and ancillary implementations as a Project Manager. Her combined training, technical and project management background give her a strong foundation in leading Informatics projects to success.

At the onset of the COVID pandemic, Michelle shifted her career path to Public Health and successfully transitioned to helping lead the emergency response as a Deputy Branch Director at a large WA state LHJ. She appreciated the focus on community wellness and population health and now uses her skillset to drive Public Health Informatics initiatives.
