Tim Powell

Tim is a public health professional with extensive experience at the local and state level in epidemiology and informatics. Most recently, as the director of the Center for Public Health Informatics at the Virginia Department of Health, he coordinated data modernization activities and worked across numerous lines of public health practice to define an enterprise approach to data integration, availability and interoperability.

Tim received a Master of Public Health with an emphasis in epidemiology from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He also has graduate certificates in leadership from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill and a certificate in public health informatics from the University of Illinois – Chicago. Tim is passionate about creating sustainable technical solutions to public health problems.
